YOUR JUROR NUMBER has been assigned to identify you during your term of service.

YOUR JUROR NUMBER	YOUR TERM OF SERVICE	YOUR COURT ASSIGNMENT

YOUR JUROR NUMBER is located on the face of your summons along with your TERM OF SERVICE and COURT ASSIGNMENT.

YOUR JUROR NUMBER is what you will listen for when you call our voicemail system or look online for your assignment. Normally, either a range of juror numbers will be called in or the message will report that no jurors are needed..

YOUR TERM OF SERVICE is one work week in length. You may be called to appear any day that week. You will call the voicemail or check the web page for information on when you are to appear on the Friday (or any time over the weekend) before your TERM OF SERVICE begins.

YOUR COURT ASSIGNMENT tells you where you are to appear. There are 4 possible assignments: CROWN POINT, HAMMOND, EAST CHICAGO AND GARY.

PLEASE FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS FOUND ON THE VOICEMAIL FOR YOUR COURT ASSIGNMENT.

1. CALL 755-3510 and PRESS __ the FRI. (AFTER 4), SAT. OR SUN. BEFORE YOUR TERM OF SERVICE. 2. *LISTEN TO THE ENTIRE MESSAGE. PLEASE CALL AGAIN* THE NIGHT BEFORE YOU COME IN. 3. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOUR JUROR NUMBER. IF IT ISN'T CALLED, YOU'RE DONE!** You may also visit LAKEJURYDUTY.ORG the WEEKEND BEFORE your term of service for appearance information, driving directions, answers to frequently asked questions and general information about jury duty.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR JURY SERVICE You must immediately contact your employer about your service. Expect to appear at least one day (usually Monday) during your term of service. Average jury trials last 1-3 days. Jurors are paid $20 for reporting and $40 for each day served plus mileage. Proof of appearance letters are available. If you need auxiliary aids or services, please contact the court in writing. Please dress respectfully.
